New Options for Manual Wheelchairs
Wijit by SuperQuad
The Wijit is a a lever actuated driving and braking system that is designed to cut down on shoulder injuries often seen in individuals who are long-term manual chair users. It's an intriguing concept and looks interesting. Let me know if you've tried the project. I'd like to hear more about it. You can learn more about it yourself by visiting the Wigit Web Site.
MagicWheels
These are all mechanical 2-geared wheels with no batteries which replace the standard spoke, mag or power assist wheels on your manual wheelchair. MagicWheels - 2-gear wheelchair drive work very similar to a 2 speed bicycle allowing you to shift into a lower gear before you climb hills or roll over any type of uneven or rough terrain. Again, let me know if you have these and would like to comment on them. You can learn more about them by visiting the MagicWheels web site.
